JAMstack and Netlify - Do we really need another buzzword?

A presentation at McrFRED in in Manchester, UK by Phil Hawksworth

The term JAMstack just means static website, doesn't it? Well… not quite. Although it sounds like yet another buzzword, it can be helpful as a way to talk about sites which can harness the power of a CDN, benefit from modern web development workflows, and leverage a world of microservices.

In this talk, we'll look a little closer at what this means and what possibilities it can unlock. We'll explore some of the features and ways of using Netlify to deliver things like infinite instant production environments, continuous deployments. And we'll work through an example of building dynamic features on static hosting infrastructure with Functions as a Service and content APIs.
