Freelance web standards and accessibility consultant, ex-Deputy CTO, Opera. He’s been active in Web Standards since 2002, working with the Web Standards Project, the W3C Mobile Best Practices Working Group and developer education. He was on the committee that drafted BS8878, the British Standard for commissioning accessible web sites. He co-authored Introducing HTML5, the first full-length book on the subject.
He was previously Deputy CTO at Opera Software, tech lead at a large UK legal organisation, a tarot card reader and musician in Turkey, Head of Primary at a school and tutor to a Princess’ daughter in Bangkok, a volunteer pharmacist and Bollywood extra in India.
