TDP Contributions towards Drinking Water Supply in Rural AP To ensure the supply of quality drinking water for the rural population in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the former TDP Government under the leadership of Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu took measures to provide quality drinking water with fully covered status for all Habitations and to provide 100 per cent household private tap connections to all the rural districts in Andhra Pradesh. Progress made by the TDP Government in supplying drinking water in the rural areas since 2014-15 : ● A total of 7,348 habitations are covered through 4,243 Single village schemes (SVS) & Multi village Schemes (MVS) duly incurring an expenditure of Rs. 2103.93 Crores. ● Through solar energy-based dual pump piped water supply schemes more than 1,127 habitations have been covered. ● Through community water purification plants 325 Fluoride-affected habitations have been covered on temporary measures. ● 4,499 works on hand at a cost of Rs. 1348.05 crores covering 4,499 habitations. 1236 partially covered and quality-affected habitations are targeted for coverage during 2018-19. So far 1556 habitations are covered with an expenditure of Rs. 299.11 crores under different programmes like NRDWP, NABARD and other State Development schemes.

Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu and the corresponding TDP MLAs launched the NTR Sujala Scheme with the concept of the Hub and Spoke community purification plants Model to provide a protected water supply to quality affected rural areas, more than 207 chronic kidney disease-affected habitations (areas) are programmed to be covered through TDP Policies of NTR Sujala community treatment plants in Srikakulam & Prakasam Districts with an estimated cost of Rs. 22.59 crores. Under the regime of the then chief minister of AP N. Chandrababu Naidu, The TDP Political party launched this scheme on October 8, 2014, with the intention to make potable water available in all 13,000 panchayats in Andhra Pradesh by providing 20 litres of drinking water to households for Rs 2 under the NTR Sujala Sravanthi scheme and under the supervision of the TDP Party Leaders and other govt officials more than 618 water plants were set up in 307 mandals and they were meeting the requirement of 624 habitations. With the aim of supplying mineral water to every household in the tribal areas along with meeting the nutrition requirements of the tribal communities. The TDP Government arranged a special drive to provide clean drinking water and every family in the villages will be provided pure drinking water under this scheme. The TDP Government worked on its ambitious water grid project, which envisages providing tapped water supply to all households in rural habitations. The, then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had thought of launching the project, named ‘Jaladhara’ according to Panchayat Raj and Rural Development officials, the project is estimated to cost 22,300 crores, the Jaladhara project was aimed at providing protected drinking water to 48,363 habitations with close to one crore population. The TDP party was planning to implement this programme after forming their government in Andhra Pradesh.
