Irrigation Facilities Under TDP Governance The progress of the agriculture sector, on which 70 percent of the people in the state of Andhra Pradesh depend on the availability of irrigation water resources. Our state has many tributaries, canals, ponds, and Godavari and Krishna rivers. Crisis situations have arisen due to the non-adoption of modern methods and policies in the agriculture and irrigation sectors. For the past eight years, the TDP Government under the Leadership of Nara Chandrababu Naidu has not only allocated large amounts of funds to the irrigation sector but has also been achieving good results using modern science and technology with help of Top TDP Leaders and these are seen live on Latest TDP Flash News. In this background, efforts are being made to green the state by increasing the allocation of 16.7 percent of the planning budget in 2001-02, 18.5 percent in 2002-03, and 20.5 percent in 2003-04. Between 1994-2003, history was created in the field of irrigation by achieving 10 lakh acres of new irrigation and 18 lakh acres of “Gap irrigation”.
