What no one tells you about the architect role

A presentation at KonferenSE:22 in in Berlin, Germany by Robin Pokorny

All career paths at Klarna are irregular. Last year Robin put a sharp turn to his and became the domain architect. Oh boy! For the first time ever, he was no more a member of a product team. Writing code was not his main output. How do you drive the architecture when you have no reports? Where is the line between helping a stuck team with a decision and being a dictator that decides too much?

In this talk, Robin shares what he has learned about the role and himself in the past year. He will teach you how to prepare for the position of domain architect and prove that successful architects cannot just depend on hard skills.
