A presentation at Open Austin November General Meeting in in Austin, TX, USA by Taylor Barnett
I gave a short talk at Open Austin’s November meetup about how APIs are crucial to data access and how to use APIs to make data more accessible to a wider audience. I ended with an example of using SMS to get Food Inspection Scores from a dataset hosted on data.austintexas.gov using the Socrata API provided for it.
[Note: If you want to work on building civic applications with APIs, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help. You can find me on Twitter at @taylor_atx]
