Design Systems - A Foundation to Consistancy Revisited

A presentation at Digital Lincoln by Rob Whiting

Starting a season of three talks around the topic of design, Digital Lincoln would like to welcome back UX Professional Rob Whiting. Rob, who previously gave a talk to Digital Lincoln back in 2017 has had a varied design career, helping to design better experiences for Eurostar, The BBC, The Royal Mail Group, the NHS and Avast AntiVirus. Keen to share ideas, Rob works as part of Northern User Experience (NUX) - https://nuxuk.org/, helps run one of the largest UX communities in the world, Designer Hangout - https://www.designerhangout.co/ and runs his own Research & Design Consultancy, ‘Merlan’.

Rob will deliver an updated talk on his work with Design Systems, including aspects such as Style Guides & Pattern Libraries, which all aid in the production of a consistent, usable interface. If used properly, Design Systems can speed up, standardise & streamline the development process and yet are often ignored and therefore unused.

Experienced in developing Design Systems - going back to when they used to be produced on paper and left in drawers - Rob is now an advocate of living, evolving digital solutions and will offer interesting ideas and real-world recommendations on how to keep these essential foundations to consistency part of your process.

So please join us online on Tuesday 23rd February at 7pm for what is sure to be an interesting and informative talk. After the presentation there will be a Q&A session with plenty of time to socialise and chat online with other Digital Lincoln members.
