We’ll also investigate the reliable workhorse PostgreSQL, the small-but-mighty Redis, and the specialist OpenSearch. All these open source databases are available for you to use locally, host yourselves, or connect to your application as a service. Using the Aiven platform as an easy way to set up the databases, see examples of the problems each database can solve - and how to do that with Laravel. Recommended for Laravel developers building non-trivial applications, now or in the future.
