A presentation at Serverless Days London in in London, UK by Sarah Drasner
Here’s what was said about this presentation on social media.
However @sarah_edo, who I’ve never seen present before, is either naturally gifted or someone who spends months prepping (or both). She gave one of the most fluid & natural talk deliveries I’ve seen in years. End of the day is a horrible slot but she bought the whole event home

💯!!! @sarah_edo mentions that clean code is not a universal standard and subjective. #commentyourcode

I had positive feedback about the comments in https://t.co/qxGCyyxSfG which I wrote 10+ years ago. I look back at them and I'm still happy with them.

Anyone have examples of code comments that you’d recommend? Was so inspired by @sarah_edo talk at @ServerlessLDN. We should totally talk more about how we comment our code.
— Jennifer Davis (@sigje) July 11, 2019
@sarah_edo great #ServerlessDays talk on an important topic. What do you think of the idea that comments (even in clean code) should explain what's happening with state?

@sarah_edo on being more open to good reasons for writing comments in your code. Not all comments as made equal pic.twitter.com/h7boGKnJKL

So fantastic. It’s super ok to explicitly acknowledge that code was written to a deadline and available for refactoring pic.twitter.com/6u59a5wnZH

Great reasons why code comments are good even when you have *clean code*

Great talk on actually the human side of IT from @sarah_edo at #ServerlessDays. The simple yet important thing of writing proper comments in code. This helps to teach and explain. Be human, write comments.

Totally agree. I've worked on legacy projects with no comments. Some businesses require just as much knowledge to understand the business as it did learning to code. If you're new to that business domain it can be really hard to add feautures and refactor existing code.
