A presentation at Paris Web in in Paris, France by Chris Heilmann
There is a romantic notion that web standards and handcrafted markup with a sprinkle of progressively enhanced JavaScript are all we need to make great web products. In reality though many of these don’t end up on the web and instead we deal with bloated products that expect their maintainers to be programming experts. Maybe it is time to face some facts about the web of today and find better ways to bring our knowledge and quality thinking to a new generation of web developers. In this talk we’ll look at some harsh realities that we’re not immune to automatization through machine learning and that we need to find a better way to get heard.
